The R100 Baton Relay was an event that has just finished across both Australia and New Zealand to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in our respective countries.
Each district that participated brought local colour and culture to the celebration. Our starting point was at the highest point of Mt. Victoria with all five BM Clubs participating plus the e-club.  In addition, we had the very generous support of the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus Company which adorned one of their double decker tourist buses with a Rotary logo and signage covering the length of the bus.
The event began at 7:00am on Thursday, April 22 with a group of intrepid walkers negotiating the tracks and back streets down the mountain with brief stops at Blackheath, Medlow Bath for morning tea, and then onto lunch at The Carrington Hotel.  Afternoon tea and yummie tucker was taken at Wentworth Falls Lake (courtesy of Love Bites) accompanied by a glass or two of champers.
On Saturday, April 23, Jennifer Scott (a very experienced walker) and four others covered the 30 kms to Buttenshaw Park in Springwood before afternoon tea. After tea, the group met up with other Club members from Springwood and Lower Blue with an end goal of Glenbrook.
We wish to thank all who have contributed and/or participated in so many ways towards this event.
