Ode to Handshakes or ‘ZOOM Gloom’
I need to note that I’m feeling sad,
That I don’t have what I once had.
I know the pandemic is the talk of the town,
But the lack of contact is bringing me down.

I’m a newbie to this club, it’s true,
And my contacts here are very few
But I miss the breakfasts, the toast and tea
And lining up to pay the fee.

I miss Judy’s fare and Les’ flair
I miss the muesli, the fruit and the chance to share.
I hope that we all can meet again soon,
And provide a buffer for the doom and the gloom.

So, let’s do what we do and continue to serve,
Despite the obstacles, challenges and curves.
I know that through Rotary our vision is clear,
Once we are out of this lock-down, let’s meet for a beer!
